We have a small office for hire in our premises in Beaconsfield Street, Blyth

The hire of the room includes heating, lighting and electricity.  Tenants would also have full use of our kitchen facilities, disabled access toilets and communal areas.

New Hartley Memorial Hall - Carpet Bowls

Cramlington Community Arts Project - First Monday of the Month artmaking sessions with professional artists. 10am - 12noon at Cramlington Village Community Centre, East Farm Terrace, Cramlington, NE23 1DT.

East Cramlington and Seaton Valley Conservation Volunteers -  Wednesday 22nd  February 2017 (half-term), we are holding a morning for people especially children to make bird boxes and show them how some items that normally go into the waste bin can be used to make feeding stations for the birds.  Contact David Athey at: daveathey49@gmail.com

WATBike / WATBus

WATBusComing up this week:
Sunday 19th, 9am at Cobalt. Sunday samosa ride via Brighton Grove, across the Tyne and a cuppa at the Staith’s café in Dunston, then back over the Tyne and Cobalt, a jolly ride out about 35 miles.

The first two day ride of the year is on 25-26th March ~ Lindisfarne. Starting in Coldstream, riding along Tweed Valley and North Northumberland, and crossing to Holy Island. Overnight stay in the lovely Lindisfarne Hotel at Beal. Day two riding inland via Wooler then further south. Transport and full support, twin ensuite rooms, includes dinner, bed and breakfast for £110 pp. Let me know if you fancy it.

Winter bike servicing - do you need your bike serviced ready for the winter? We have six qualified and experienced bike mechanics in our workshop who can give your bike a full service at very reasonable costs.  Colin 07918 075187.

Youth Workers Required
Voluntary Youth Workers required ASAP to work with children aged 9-16 whom have been indirectly affected by Cancer. At ‘Your Big C and Me’ whose aims are to support children indirectly affected by Cancer.

We believe due to the lack of current provisions that many children will feel unsupported and isolated due to an indirect Cancer diagnosis.  More …

Woodhorn Charitable Trust is an independent charity which manages Woodhorn as a museum and visitor attraction and the home of the Northumberland Archives.  The Trust also manages Berwick Record Office, Berwick Museum & Art Gallery, Hexham Old Gaol & Moothall, Morpeth Chantry Bagpipe Museum and delivers heritage, arts and cultural education and outreach work with people throughout Northumberland and online.

Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland (RCTN) is looking for a women to join as Deputy Treasurer to the Board of Trustees.

We are a feminist organisation.  We work to end victim blaming and rape culture which enables sexual violence to take place and go unpunished.   We also provide vital services for women who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. 

We are looking a woman who has some experience of financial management who is interested in being trained to become the organisation’s Treasurer. 
 You will assist the Treasurer to:
•    Maintain an overview of the organisation's financial affairs.
•    Ensure RCTN’s financial viability.
•    Ensure that proper financial records and procedures are maintained.

The successful candidate will provide an efficient and comprehensive information, signposting and advice service to older people and their representatives. A knowledge of Welfare Benefits and current legislation around the provision of benefits is essential. The service will be developed in accordance with the national Age UK quality standards for the provision of information and advice.  Supervision of volunteers and staff is needed to provide support an effective service delivery.

Experience of working in the voluntary sector or with older people would be advantageous. You must be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service. This post will be based at The Roundhouse, Ashington and the successful candidate may be expected to travel throughout Northumberland visiting clients and promoting the service, therefore access to a car and a full driving licence is essential

This is a full time permanent post.

Coalfields Regeneration Trust

Coalfields Regeneration Trust LogoThe Coalfields Regeneration Trust is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the 5.5 million people living in Britain’s former mining communities. Many of these communities still require support due to the huge impact the closure of the mines had upon them.

The Coalfields Community Investment Programme (England) is a £500,000 fund created to support activities that tackle some of the key challenges that still remain in coalfield communities. The fund is open to projects that deliver in the top 30% most deprived coalfield communities and that will make a positive difference in addressing the following themes:

Skills: Growing the skills of people in order to increase their opportunities
Employment: Developing pathways to increase the number of people in work

Health: Supporting projects that increase participation in activities/services that improve the health and wellbeing of people in former coalfield communities.

The National Churches Trust has announced that its 2017 Community Grants programme is open for applications.  The Grants Programme provides grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 for projects which introduce facilities to enable increased community use of places of worship. South Committee Area only: Round 4 of the community chest scheme is now open. It will run until 5pm, Tuesday 28th February.

CVA Blyth Valley has a downstairs small meeting / training room for hire.  The room is fully accessible, holds 8 people comfortably around a boardroom–style table, and includes the use of a whiteboard, projector, screen, OHP and Wi-Fi availability.

Cost is £5 per hour  /  £15 per half day  /  £25 full day  (refreshments will be extra)
