Room for Hire
We have a small office for hire in our premises in Beaconsfield Street, Blyth

The hire of the room includes heating, lighting and electricity.  Tenants would also have full use of our kitchen facilities, disabled access toilets and communal areas.

New Hartley Memorial Hall - Carpet Bowls

Newsham and New Delaval Youth Forum

Youth Work vacancies in the Newsham area of Blyth

Newsham and New Delaval Youth Forum is a Blyth based youth charity and following a successful application to Children In Need are able to offer a number of youth work positions.

We are looking for a Leader In Charge worker, to work closely with the Trustees of the organisation to enhance and develop the objectives of the organisation. Additionally we are also looking for centre based and detached workers as outlined below.

All posts are funded for a period of 3 years and mainly funded through Children In Need.

   -  Leader in Charge worker, 16 hours a week, £12.50 per hour
   -  2 Detached workers, 6 hours a week, £11 per hour
   -  3 centre based workers, 6 hours a week, £11 per hour

We are looking for individuals who:

·         Have experience of working  with young people
·         Have a youth work qualification
·         Able to develop appropriate , professional relationships with young people and other 
·         Able to work as part of a team
·         Are enthusiastic, able to use their own initiative and work independently and have a flexible
          approach to working with young people.

WATBike / WATBus

WATBusEaster cycling is here:
Well done to the group who tackled the Ryals on Sunday and also the group who enjoyed a cuppa and cake at Corbridge. It’s Easter this weekend, so no excuse for not getting that bike out.

Coming up this week we have:
Easter Monday (not Sunday), 9am at Cobalt - Easter Monday ride. Heading up the Derwent way to Consett, then back down the C2C to Washington Waterfowl Park for Lunch. Optional extra at WWP is a big Lego trail (cost £9.45 extra) https://hoop.co.uk/i/vFomf9/  then back via Springwell and Gateshead back to Cobalt, around 50 miles.

Workshop bike services: we are launching a scheme where we can offer you a good quality courtesy bike whilst your bike is in for service, so you can keep your mileage up and still get around.  Colin 07918 075187.

Other updates:
Workshop will be open as usual on Easter Saturday 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. We still have a good range of fully serviced adults and kids bikes at good prices. Pop in for a natter.

We now have one space available for our two day ride in August. It's on 19-20th August, riding from Hartside to Kielder, and staying overnight near Gretna.  Let me know if you want more details.

Garfield Weston Foundation  The Garfield Weston Foundation has launched its new website,
  aiming to make the process of applying for funding as straightforward
  as possible for potential applicant charities.

The new mobile-friendly website features examples and guidelines on the aspects of applying for funding that charities find most challenging according to feedback and experience.





Comic Relief

Comic Relief  Please find attached details of two new grant programmes from Comic Relief which
  were recently launched.

  #iIwill Youth Social Action Fund closing on 12th May 2017

  We're inviting proposals which effectively build relationships with young people between the ages of 10 and 20 years old from disadvantaged backgrounds who do not currently participate in youth social action in their own community, and which engage those young people in creative and meaningful youth social action.

HIV in the UK: Think Digital closing on 19th May 2017

We are inviting applications to create, adapt, scale up or roll out digital solutions to respond to HIV in the UK.


Sir James Knott Trust

The Sir James Knott TrustGrants usually £700 - £4,500. VCSE.
Deadline 16th June 2017.

Austin & Hope Pilkington Trust  Up to £5,000. Registered charities (income over
  £500k).  Deadline 31st May 2017

Grants are available for projects that relate to music and the Arts, with priority given to projects that focus on:


Greggs Foundation

Greggs Foundation  North East Core Funding
  Up to £15,000 pa up to 3 years. Not for profit (turnover less than £300k).
  Deadline 18th May 2017.

The programme provides support towards the core revenue costs of organisations working in disadvantaged neighbourhoods. This can include running costs (bills etc), and core salaries (managers or administrators rather than project workers or sessional staff).

Room for Hire / Resources

CVA Blyth Valley has a downstairs small meeting / training room for hire.  The room is fully accessible, holds 8 people comfortably around a boardroom–style table, and includes the use of a whiteboard, projector, screen, OHP and Wi-Fi availability.

Cost is £5 per hour  /  £15 per half day  /  £25 full day  (refreshments will be extra)
