Room for Hire
We have a small office for hire in our premises in Beaconsfield Street, Blyth.

The hire of the room includes heating, lighting and electricity.  Tenants would also have full use of our kitchen facilities, disabled access toilets and communal areas.  Interested parties should contact Thom Bradley at CVABV on 01670 353623 / thom.bradley@cvabv.org.uk

New Hartley Memorial Hall - Carpet Bowls
If you are interested in carpet bowls pop along to the New Hartley Memorial Hall.  Every Friday afternoon from 1:00 pm – 3:00pm.

Remembrance Sunday. A circular ride around Tyneside, taking in the Remembrance Day parade at Ponteland. Raggy Heirlooms for lunch and then back to Cobalt.  40 miles.

NEW Saturday Ride from COBALT on 18th November at 09.30
Introducing the first Super Saturday! Our November ride is titled “Samosas and Staithes”, as our route will take in the wonders of Brighton Grove before calling in to the Staithes Café for lunch.  A circular ride of around 40 miles

Christmas appeal ! We are looking for more bikes to recycle in the WATBike workshop ready for our Xmas sale. Please let us know of any old unloved or unwanted bikes or parts. Thank you.

WATBike also sell clothing, shoes, bags and other assorted cycling accessories at affordable prices and would be pleased to accept any of your unwanted cycling bits & pieces to add to their stock. All proceeds go to support the Watbus Charity.

Ernest Cook Trust Grants Programme

Ernest Cook TrustSchools, charities and not for profit organisations wishing to encourage young people's interest in the countryside; and literacy, numeracy and science can apply for funding to the Ernest Cook Trust (ECT).

The Trust operates two grant making programmes:

The small grants programme (under £4,000)

The large grants programme (grants in excess of £4,000)

Applications to the small grants programme can be made at any time. The next closing date for applications for the large grants programme is 31st January 2018.

The Children’s Foundation

Children’s Foundation   Regional Small Grants Programme
   The Children's Foundation supports and manages projects across a
   broad spectrum of activities, particularly those that deal with some of
   the more difficult areas of children's and young people's problems - such as disability, disadvantage and mental health issues. 

Grants of up to £1,000 are available to support community projects that benefit children and young people in the North East.

Closing date for applications is 31st October 2017.

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF)

HeritageFirst World War: Then and Now 
Grants from £3,000 to £10,000 are available for community projects that explore, conserve and share the heritage of the First World War.

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) want to fund projects that enable communities (geographic, cultural or those linked by experience or interest) to understand more about the heritage of the First World War and that make a difference for a wide range of people. In particular, HLF would like to help young people aged 11-25 to take an active part in the Centenary commemorations.

The programme has a short application form and is suitable for everyone, including first-time applicants. Community groups and schools can apply at any time. More info at:

Room for Hire / Resources

CVA Blyth Valley has a downstairs small meeting / training room for hire.  The room is fully accessible, holds 8 people comfortably around a boardroom–style table, and includes the use of a whiteboard, projector, screen, OHP and Wi-Fi availability.

Cost is £5 per hour  /  £15 per half day  /  £25 full day  (refreshments will be extra)
